Trump Pushes Historic Iran Deal, Wants Arab Nations to Join Accords

Trump said negotiations with Iran are progressing well and a deal remains possible. He said there are only two outcomes: either a major agreement is reached or the conflict returns with even bigger fighting, something he claimed nobody wants.

Trump said he recently spoke with several Middle East leaders, including Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed, Qatar’s Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Pakistan’s Army Chief Asim Munir, Türkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Jordan’s King Abdullah II and Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

According to Trump, the United States has spent significant effort trying to bring together a broader regional settlement involving Iran. He said countries participating in the discussions should, at a minimum, sign the Abraham Accords alongside any future Iran agreement.

Trump specifically named Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Pakistan, Türkiye, Egypt and Jordan as countries he believes should join the Abraham Accords, while noting that the UAE and Bahrain are already members. He added that one or two nations may have reasons not to sign and that such decisions would be respected.

He argued that the Abraham Accords have delivered major financial, economic and social benefits for current members, including the UAE, Bahrain, Morocco, Sudan and Kazakhstan. Trump said none of the participating countries have considered leaving the agreement despite ongoing regional conflicts.

Trump said the ideal first step would be for Saudi Arabia and Qatar to sign immediately, with other nations following afterward. He warned that countries refusing to join should not expect to be fully included in the broader settlement process because it could signal a lack of commitment.

Trump also claimed that several regional leaders told him they would welcome Iran into the Abraham Accords if Tehran reaches a formal agreement with the United States. He described the possibility of Iran joining the framework as a historic development that could transform the region.

Calling it potentially the most important agreement ever signed in the Middle East, Trump said he is formally directing his representatives to begin efforts to expand the Abraham Accords. He argued that a wider coalition including Arab states and possibly Iran would create a more united, powerful and economically stronger Middle East.
