Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will visit London, United Kingdom, from June 25-27, 2026, ahead of the implementation of the India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) and the Double Contribution Convention (DCC), which will come into force on July 15, 2026.
During the visit, Goyal will hold a high-level meeting with UK Business and Trade Secretary Peter Kyle. The discussions will focus on preparations for implementing the trade deal, customs coordination, regulatory cooperation, tariff reductions, and measures to strengthen trade and investment between the two countries.
The two sides will also discuss the rollout of the Double Contribution Convention, which aims to reduce the burden of dual social security contributions for eligible temporary workers and support easier movement of professionals and businesses between India and the UK.
Goyal will address the opening session of the India Global Forum, where he will speak on opportunities created by the upcoming India-UK trade agreement. He will also meet senior executives from major companies, including HSBC and Rolls-Royce, to discuss investments, manufacturing partnerships, and industrial cooperation in India.
The minister will participate in business meetings organised by the UK-India Business Council with executives from companies such as Tata, TCS, HSBC, Prudential, De Beers, and Baker McKenzie. Discussions will focus on trade, investment, and business opportunities under the India-UK economic partnership.
Goyal will also lead a roundtable hosted by Asia House with representatives from leading global institutions, including J.P. Morgan, Standard Chartered, Lloyds, Morgan Stanley, and Arup. The visit aims to boost India-UK economic ties and support the goal of increasing bilateral trade to USD 120 billion by 2030.
