Trump Says He Won’t Sign Housing Bill Over SAVE AMERICA ACT

U.S. President Donald J. Trump said he will not sign the Housing Bill, despite it being fully approved by Congress and sent to the White House, saying his decision is a protest against the Senate’s failure to pass the SAVE AMERICA ACT.

In a statement posted on social media, Trump said the SAVE AMERICA ACT is polling at 97% with the Republican Party and “very high” with what he described as “non-politician Democrats.” He said the bill would require voters to show photo voter identification, proof of citizenship, and would end mail-in ballots except for the military, disabled people, illness and travel.

Trump called the bill’s failure to pass “crazy” and said it poses a serious threat to any politician who votes against it. He urged that if Democrats or any Republicans In Name Only (RINO) block a vote on the SAVE AMERICA ACT, the filibuster should be terminated to allow its passage.

He also said ending the filibuster should extend to other Republican-backed legislation, including what he referred to as the upcoming Budget “BOMB” and the “1929 catastrophic style” Debt Ceiling Bill.

Trump further argued that Democrats would eliminate the filibuster if they had the opportunity, and said Republicans who allow that outcome would bear responsibility.
