Jefferies Highlights September Cement Price Increase, Warns of Potential Q2 Decline Amid Weak Volume Growth

Jefferies reports that cement prices experienced a much-needed increase in September.

For Q2, prices may drop by about 2-2.5% quarter-on-quarter and 6.5% year-on-year.

Year-to-date prices are down nearly 5% compared to last year, which is still behind the annual estimate of a 3% decline for FY25.

Volume growth remains weak due to unfavorable monsoon conditions.

Variable costs are beneficial, as petcoke prices have fallen to a four-year low.
