Dolphins' Grant DuBose Stretchered Off After Brutal Helmet-to-Helmet Hit in Loss to Texans

In a tense moment during Sunday’s NFL game between the Miami Dolphins and the Houston Texans, Dolphins wide receiver Grant DuBose was stretchered off the field after taking a serious helmet-to-helmet hit. The incident occurred in the third quarter when DuBose was attempting to catch a pass from quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Texans safety Calen Bullock collided with DuBose, leaving him motionless for around 11 minutes while medical staff provided immediate care.

The medical team removed DuBose’s helmet and facemask, cut off his jersey, and placed him on a spine board with a neck brace. He was then taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston by ambulance for further evaluation.

After the game, the Dolphins confirmed that DuBose was in stable condition but would remain in Houston overnight for additional checks. Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel shared that the initial results of DuBose’s head and neck imaging were positive. Despite the scary moment, DuBose’s teammate Tyreek Hill reassured fans, saying DuBose was in “good spirits” and moving, showing signs of recovery.

The hit caused a 12-minute game delay, with players from both teams showing concern, and many kneeling in prayer for DuBose’s well-being. Bullock, who was involved in the collision, was penalized for unnecessary roughness but not ejected. He later expressed regret, stating that he didn’t intend to harm DuBose and wished him a speedy recovery.

This incident brings attention back to player safety, especially concerning helmet-to-helmet hits. While the NFL has been tightening rules to prevent such dangerous plays, this event underscores the risks involved in the sport. DuBose’s health will remain a focus for both the Dolphins and their fans, with updates on his condition expected soon.
