DHAKA HAS FALLEN: The End of the Hasina Era, by Navroop Singh

Sheikh Hasina resigns as Bangladesh PM. A virtual military coup in Bangladesh as she landed in New Delhi on 5th August at Hindon Airbase escorted by Indian Rafale jets. She is awaiting her clearance for Asylum to UK.

Sheikh Hasina daughter of Mujibur Rehman the founding father of Bangladesh has run in with rough weather with American regime change troupe headed by Regime Change Sorceress Victoria Nuland and her male counter US Assistant Secretary of State Donald Lu.

Sheikh Hasina had recently called out America for seeking a military naval base and an effort to carve out a Christian state in Bangladesh, parts of Myanmar and India’s north east calling it a white man’s diktat.

USA wanted Bangladesh to given Sant Martin Island as US Naval Base in Bay Bengal as a vantage point looking over Myanmar, China and North East India. It wanted to Bangladesh to sign General Security of Military Information Agreement (GSOMIA) and the Acquisition Cross-Servicing Agreement (ACSA) which was rebuffed by Sheikh Hasina.

America recently called for free & fair elections in Bangladesh quiet ironically it was same Donald Lu who was labelled as instigator of regime change by Imran Khan in Pakistan last year along with Pak army. The fault being that Khan chose to embrace Russia and defy the generals in Rawalpindi sitting in American lap.

America further want to draw Bangladesh out of the Chinese sphere of influence with China by offering Bangladesh to sign Indo-Pacific Economic Forum (IPEF) agreement a counter to China’s BRI something to which India has also agreed in principle.

Bangladesh however refused to be drawn out in Cold War 2.0 between America & China and maintained equidistant relationship. Bangladesh signed up with China’s BRI project in 2016 and allowed China to develop Cox Bazzar port and signing economic agreements with China.

Sheikh Hasina’s closeness to India made China also uncomfortable which made made Xi rebuff her at recent visit to Beijing. It was China’s penetration in students unions in Bangladeshi universities and Pakistani High Commission active subversion with Jamaat elements that fuelled the students protests which started as Quota protests and soon changed into a regime change moment.

In effect America toppled another regime in India’s neighbour this time with ISI’s help. America sending a signal across the regions and powers that be it can orchestrate the Bangla Spring at a short notice. A ruthless operation carried to secure American interests in Indo-Pacific region.

What comes next is a short lived military dictatorship should give way to BNP lead government in snap polls polls whenever they are held. India’s peace in North East gets further fragile with Manipur already on boil and a porus border with West Bengal.

The first thing new BNP-Jamaat government will do in Bangladesh will be to give USA a military base i.e. Sant Martin on coastline and slow down Russia-India built Nuclear Power plants. China will get in tap trade with predatory economic policies leading it to a debt trap.

The Hasina era & legacy of Sheikh Mujibur Rehman is over as Bangladesh lurches towards uncharted territory with tussle between Bengali identity which defined it since 1971 and radical islamist takeover leaving Bengali Hindus in Bangladesh in a precarious situation.

In recent book its reported India almost intervened last time in Bangladesh in February 2009 during BDR revolt against Sheikh Hasina keeping its Paratroopers ready to extra Sheikh Hashina to safety but Bangladesh General wilted under Indian pressure to use force and a politicial settlement between Sheikh Hasina and army chief General Mooen Uddin Ahmed was effected.

Glad to see that Indian government took clear steps this time in extracting Sheikh Hasina and her entourage from Dhaka using all possible means securing safety of long last friend of India (my assumption/deduction). However diplomatic heft of India’s neighbourhood first policy gets further reduced. Islamic regimes in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Maldives, & now Bangladesh along with lawless Myanmar where USA & China tearing apart the country in zones of influences.

Update

Protest leaders in Bangladesh expect an interim govt led by Muhammad Yunus to be announced on Wednesday, after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned and fled to India amid violent student protests.

Who is Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus ? Read here 👇 Dhaka has fallen Part 2

1971 Mukti Bahini Bangladesh fighting against Nixon-Kissinger dividing Pakistan was glorious era of India’s foreign policy and defence and being replaced today with Mujibur Rehman family out and a Washington DC man Muhammad Yunus

Muhammad Yunus nobel laureate has been declared Interim Prime Minister of Bangladesh who got funded with 8,00,000 US$ by Ford Foundation in 1981 for his micro- finance project Grameen Bank taking the seat.

Yunus is one of the key donors of Clinton Foundation while Hillary Clinton had illegally used her position in the State Department to award more than US$13 million in grants to Yunus, contracts and loans despite his ouster from Grameen Bank in 2011. Funds were given to Yunus through 18 separate US Agency for International Development (USAID)

Hillary Clinton repeatedly and directly threatened Bangladesh on behalf of Muhammad Yunus warning Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina that the World Bank could revoke a previously approved US$1.2 billion loan to build the Padma Bridge. She used CIA & FBI in blackmailing two world bank official to cancel loan to protect Yunus from corruption probe.

It has come a full circle with USA undoing it in 53 years. From a humiliating defeat for Nixon-Kissinger in 1971 in Dacca to a strategic victory in Dhaka for Americans in 2024!

And the symbolism of 05th August 2024 with Hasina family escaping to Delhi for shelter. The message is loud & clear for New Delhi those who understand the gravity of it. And now we have 3.5 front to deal with.

BNP & Jamat have cut a deal with the Bangladesh Army to destroy the Awami League. Leaders are being hunted down & are being arrested, none can leave Bangladesh without security clearance from the army.

Every pro India person in the establishment is being pushed out or arrested. And this is happening under American watch/directions. Its like the kill list CIA gave to Khomeini in 1979 to hunt Communist Tudeh party in Iran and today its Awami league in Bangladesh.

More than 10000 workers of BNP and Jamat have been released by the Army. Ouster of Hasina is a new lifeline to many in opposition, either they have been released from jail or now can return to Bangladesh.

Khalida Zia, Former PM of Bangladesh was under house arrest. Amaan Azmi, son of former Jamat leader Ghulam Azam. Both have been released.

Tarique Rahman, son of Khalida Zia who was in exile in London, is now coming back, he is the same guy who started ‘India Out’ campaign in Bangladesh via BNP. Needles to say BNP & Jamaat are closely allied to Pakistan.

Cold War 2.0 with Great Power competition between USA & China is here. Precarious times with global turmoil from Israel to Iran to Lebanon to Ukraine to Myanmar and now Bangladesh and a two front of Sino-Pak Axis. This will be litmus test of Modi’s foreign policy going forward.

Update

Protest leaders in Bangladesh have announced that they anticipate the members of an interim government, led by Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus, will be finalized by Wednesday. This follows the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who has fled to India amid a violent crackdown on a student-led uprising.

Late on Tuesday, Bangladesh’s president appointed Yunus to head the interim government, fulfilling a crucial demand from the students. The president’s office stated that finalizing the remaining members of the interim government is essential to address the current crisis.

The interim government is set to address the power vacuum created after the army chief announced Hasina’s resignation on Monday. This development came after weeks of intense violence across the country, which has resulted in around 300 deaths and thousands of injuries.
