India Eyes 90-Day Trade Deal with Trump to Dodge Tariff Fallout: Bloomberg

As per a Bloomberg report, India could reach a provisional trade agreement with the Trump administration within 90 days, provided both nations find the terms mutually beneficial. A senior Indian official, who asked not to be named, said the two sides are actively negotiating on both tariff-related and non-tariff trade issues.

The official noted that the framework for a potential deal might be ready before the end of President Trump’s three-month freeze on imposing new tariffs. This has raised optimism that India may be able to sidestep the brunt of Washington’s aggressive tariff actions.

According to Bloomberg, the talks reflect a push from both governments to resolve long-pending trade irritants and avoid further escalation. India is hoping that this fast-track deal will help safeguard its export sectors while maintaining stable trade relations with the U.S.
