Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal urged Indian companies to work closely with UK businesses and turn the opportunities created by the India–UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) into long-term business growth.
Speaking at the India–UK: Partners in Progress Business Plenary in London, Goyal said CETA can help increase trade, investment, technology cooperation, innovation and stronger supply chains between the two countries.
Business leaders from both countries discussed the need to spread awareness of CETA, especially among MSMEs. They also called for simpler regulations, easier certification processes, stronger business partnerships and better talent mobility.
During the event, Goyal launched four knowledge reports to help businesses understand and make better use of opportunities under the India–UK trade agreement.
The discussions also covered key sectors including healthcare, advanced manufacturing, clean energy, science and technology, services and consumer goods, with participants highlighting new opportunities for investment and collaboration.
Goyal concluded his two-day UK visit with a meeting with the Indian business delegation, where members shared potential partnerships and business opportunities. Both governments and industry reaffirmed their commitment to turn CETA into stronger trade and investment ties.
