U.S. President Donald Trump has criticized Walmart for blaming tariffs on China as the reason for increasing prices. In a social media post, Trump said Walmart made billions in profit last year and should not pass tariff-related costs onto customers.
“Walmart should stop blaming tariffs for raising prices,” he wrote. “They made far more money than expected last year. Between Walmart and China, they should cover the cost of tariffs themselves, not the customers.”
Trump added that he would be watching the company’s actions and so would its customers.
