Tesla’s China Sales Dip in March, While BYD Accelerates with Strong Growth

In March, Tesla sold 78,828 electric vehicles made in China, marking an 11.5% decline compared to the same month last year, according to data from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA). However, deliveries of its China-made Model 3 and Model Y surged by 156.9% compared to February. Meanwhile, Chinese automaker BYD reported strong growth, with sales of its Ocean and Dynasty series — including EVs and plug-in hybrids — rising 23.1% year-on-year to reach 371,419 units in March.
