China Turns to India for Rapeseed Meal After Hitting Canada with Heavy Tariffs

China has sharply increased its purchase of rapeseed meal from India, buying 52,000 tons in just the last three weeks. This is four times more than what it imported from India during all of 2024. The sudden jump in demand comes after China slapped a 100% tariff on Canadian rapeseed meal as a retaliatory measure, pushing Chinese buyers to turn to India instead, according to people in the industry.
