U.S. President Donald Trump said the United States has already won in Venezuela and will soon secure a major victory in Iran, citing what he described as strong U.S. economic and military pressure on Tehran.

Trump said Iran’s inflation rate has reached 300% and claimed the country’s currency is now almost worthless. He also said the United States has substantial financial strength and that this would lead to a major victory over Iran. Trump added that many Iranian soldiers have not been paid.

Trump Says US Maintains Dominance Over Iran

Trump said the U.S. has established what he described as “absolute and genuine dominance” over Iran. He said the confrontation has no timetable and will continue for as long as necessary, adding that the United States cannot allow Iran to possess nuclear weapons.

Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, Trump said the U.S. blockade remains in effect and that the United States is monitoring movements in the blockaded area. He said 22 vessels transited the Strait overnight and claimed that 10 million barrels of oil left the Strait the previous day.

Trump said the Strait of Hormuz is operating normally and that large volumes of oil are flowing through it. He also said economic warfare and military strikes are both effective and described the performance of the U.S. military as remarkable.

The president said prices are falling and described Iranians as untrustworthy negotiating partners who are unsuitable counterparties for reaching an agreement.

Trump also commented on Iran’s supreme leader, saying he does not believe the leader is dead and that he may have suffered serious injuries.

Separately, Trump said CIA Director Ratcliffe’s visit to Russia was “semi-routine” and that there may be new developments regarding the visit. He also said it was time to teach Canada a lesson and that Canada cannot continue doing what it is doing.
