Early Tuesday morning, a tragic accident occurred at a Delta Air Lines maintenance facility near Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. A tire on a Boeing 757 aircraft exploded during routine maintenance, leading to the deaths of two employees and injuring another.

The incident took place around 5 a.m. at the Delta TechOps hangar, located on Maynard H. Jackson Jr. Boulevard near the airport’s international terminal. The explosion prompted an immediate response from multiple units of the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department and the police.

Delta Air Lines has confirmed the incident and is cooperating with authorities as they investigate the cause of the explosion. The injured employee was quickly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, though their condition has not yet been disclosed.
