Three separate encounters between security forces and terrorists have erupted in Jammu and Kashmir, as security forces launched search operations following suspected terrorist movements in the region, according to official sources. These encounters reflect the heightened vigilance of the security forces, particularly in the sensitive border areas, to prevent infiltration attempts and ensure the safety and security of the region.

Two of these anti-terror operations are taking place near the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara district, while the third is in the Rajouri district.

Kupwara District – Tangdhar Sector:
The first encounter began in the Tangdhar sector of Kupwara district yesterday evening when security forces intercepted a group of terrorists attempting to infiltrate across the LoC. The infiltration attempt led to a fierce exchange of fire between the troops and the terrorists. The security forces are determined to prevent any breach of the border and neutralize the infiltrators. As of now, the operation is ongoing, with heavy gunfire being reported from the area.

Kupwara District – Machil Sector:
In another incident, early this morning, the army intercepted a second infiltration attempt by terrorists in the Machil sector of Kupwara district. This sector, known for its rugged terrain and strategic importance, has witnessed several infiltration attempts in the past. The operation in this area is still ongoing, as security forces continue their efforts to neutralize the infiltrators and secure the area. The exact number of terrorists involved in these operations is yet to be confirmed, but the presence of multiple infiltrators has been reported.

Rajouri District – Lathi Area:
Meanwhile, in the Rajouri district, security forces launched an operation in the Lathi area after receiving intelligence reports about the presence of terrorists. According to sources, two to three terrorists are believed to be holed up in a cordoned-off area. The security forces have surrounded the area, and efforts are underway to apprehend or neutralize the terrorists. The situation in Rajouri is tense as the operation continues, with security forces exercising caution to avoid civilian casualties while engaging the terrorists.

These ongoing operations underscore the constant threat of terrorist infiltration in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in regions close to the LoC. The security forces remain on high alert, employing advanced surveillance techniques and intelligence inputs to thwart any attempts by terrorists to disrupt peace and security in the region. Further updates are awaited as the situation in these areas continues to develop.
