Saurya Airlines Aircraft Crashes During Takeoff in Kathmandu, 19 Onboard

A Saurya Airlines aircraft crashed during takeoff in Kathmandu, Nepal, according to a report by the Kathmandu Post on Wednesday. The plane was headed to Pokhara and had nineteen people on board at the time of the crash.

At least five people have died after a small plane skidded off the runway and caught fire in Kathmandu, Nepal.

CCTV footage shows that the Saurya Airlines plane, carrying 19 people, crashed at a Nepal airport. Eighteen of the passengers have died after the aircraft skidded off the runway during take-off.

Only the captain survived the plane crash at Kathmandu International Airport. He is currently being treated in a hospital, according to a spokesperson for Tribhuvan International Airport.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal reported that the aircraft veered off to the right and crashed shortly after takeoff.
