GIFT Nifty Hits Record $21.56B Open Interest, 4.46 Lakh Contracts

GIFT Nifty achieved its highest-ever open interest on June 25, 2026, reaching 4,46,150 contracts with a total value of US$21.56 billion, equivalent to around ₹2,03,655 crore.

The new record surpassed the previous peak of US$21.23 billion in open interest and 4,10,100 contracts, which was recorded on October 24, 2025. The rise reflects growing participation and stronger confidence from global investors.

Since the launch of full-scale GIFT Nifty operations on July 3, 2023, trading activity on NSE IX has grown rapidly. The exchange has recorded a cumulative trading volume of more than 69.56 million contracts.

During the same period, the total cumulative trading turnover crossed US$3.21 trillion as of June 25, 2026, highlighting the strong growth of the platform.

NSE IX said the latest milestone reflects increasing global interest in GIFT Nifty and thanked market participants for their continued support in making the contract a success.

NSE IX, based in GIFT IFSC, Gandhinagar, currently holds a market share of over 99.6% in GIFT IFSC and offers products including equity, index, currency derivatives, depository receipts and global stocks.
