Delhi experienced over 100 millimeters of rainfall within an hour, causing significant waterlogging in various parts of the city. The weather office has issued a ‘red’ warning due to the heavy rain. The National Flash Flood Guidance Bulletin has also identified Delhi as an area of concern.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that the Pragati Maidan observatory in central Delhi recorded 112.5 mm of rain in just one hour. This intense rainfall in such a short time is classified as a “cloud burst” by the IMD.

Delhi’s Old Rajinder Nagar, where three students died last week in a flood at a coaching center’s basement, experienced flooding again due to the recent heavy rain.
