Tariff Tensions Between U.S. and China May Ease Soon, Says Treasury Secretary

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has said that the ongoing tariff standoff between the United States and China cannot continue for long. Speaking at a private investor event hosted by JPMorgan in Washington D.C., Bessent called the situation “unsustainable” and expressed hope for a resolution.

Although formal trade talks have not started yet, Bessent told the attendees that a deal with China is still possible. His remarks suggest that the U.S. government may be looking for ways to reduce tensions and avoid further economic strain from tariffs.
