Bomb Alert Leads to Basel-Mulhouse Airport Evacuation and Train Network Disruptions Ahead of Paris Olympics

On Friday, the Franco-Swiss Basel-Mulhouse airport was evacuated and closed due to a bomb alert, according to French police.

On July 26, just hours before the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics, SNCF reported significant disruptions to France’s high-speed rail network caused by arson and other malicious acts.

The Paris Police Chief announced that additional security personnel would be deployed to busy train stations in response to the disruptions.

A map of the train line sabotage shows that nearly all lines leading to Paris are currently suspended.

Police report that several areas in France have experienced sabotage of their fiber optic networks.

An arrest has been made in connection with last week’s sabotage of the French rail network. A far-left militant has been taken into custody in relation to this incident.
