Update

Authorities investigating the Brazilian plane crash that killed all 62 people on board last week have received the full transcript from the “black box,” but its content has not yet clarified the cause of the accident, local TV station Globo reported on Wednesday.

The cockpit voice recorder transcript reveals that the pilot and copilot noticed a rapid loss of altitude about one minute before the crash, according to Globo’s main newscast, Jornal Nacional, citing unnamed sources involved in the investigation.

The transcript includes roughly two hours of audio, featuring a conversation where the copilot inquires about the situation and mentions that the plane required “more power” to stabilize.

The ATR-72 turboprop, operated by local airline Voepass, was en route from Cascavel to Sao Paulo when it crashed around 1:30 p.m. (1630 GMT) near Vinhedo, approximately 80 km (50 miles) northwest of Sao Paulo.
