Sea Hawk Helicopter Crash
The Sea Hawk helicopter went down at approximately 2:45 p.m. during routine operations from the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz. The exact location of the carrier was not disclosed for operational security reasons. The carrier strike group was nearing the end of its deployment before returning to the US West Coast.
F/A-18F Super Hornet Crash
About 30 minutes later, at around 3:15 p.m., an F/A-18F Super Hornet fighter jet also crashed, according to the US Navy. No injuries were reported among the five personnel involved in the two incidents. Investigations are ongoing, and the causes and locations of the crashes have not yet been revealed.

China’s Foreign Ministry confirmed that US Navy aircraft crashed during a military exercise in the South China Sea. The ministry said that if the United States makes any request for assistance, China will provide help on humanitarian ground.
