Senior U.S. officials, based on recent intelligence reports, believe that Iran and Hezbollah are still likely to launch a retaliatory strike against Israel, reports Al-Arabiya. According to the assessment, Iran could initiate an attack within 12-24 hours of making a decision. However, it is still unclear whether Iran and Hezbollah will coordinate their actions or each carry out separate operations.
The U.S. military is continuing to build up its presence in the region and expects this buildup to last for the foreseeable future. An official stated that the redeployment of forces depends on achieving a ceasefire in Gaza.
However, the situation could escalate if Iran crosses certain “red lines” during its retaliation against Israel. If that happens, the U.S. would be ready to respond, including the possibility of deploying an aircraft carrier to the Persian Gulf.
