TRUMP-VANCE: The Rise of Conservative Right in USA & its Impact on the Global Order

As America heads towards another election the fault lines in the world’s most powerful democracy deepened with the shocking assassination attempt on former president Trump’s life during a rally in Pennsylvania where he was nearly saved by a whisker with one of the sniper bullets roughing past his right ear leading to profuse bleeding. The secret service managed to take him off stage but not before the fist picture of the former president signifying the epoch making event that could define and well very seal this election. The secret service managed to shoot down the sniper and the matter is being investigated by the FBI about the motives of the sniper. The democratic party which was already in dis-array after horrendous performance by President Joe Biden faces a moment of reckoning as Donald Trump is set to be officially nominated as Republican Party candidate at Republican National Convention. Donald Trump a few days back declared JD Vance an Ohio senator as his running mate i.e. Vice Presidential Candidate whose wife happens to be a person of Indian origin.

In the aftermath of the assassination attempt the Trump-Vance ticket for Presidentship is a consolidating lead over the Biden-Harris campaign. However for better analysis of what Trump-Vance administration might have in store for the world we would need to look beyond the surface and scratch the Conservative agenda through Council of National Policy which formed the roots of Project 2025 which has been championed by conservative thinktank Heritage Foundation. To make a nuanced understanding of American politics and how it might affect the world we had earlier discussed the the Radical Left and its cultural Marxism, woke theory that is being exported globally, thus it is now imperative to understand the other side of Conservative right. Before we delve deeper into this it must be stated at the outset that the purpose of both these ideologies is to create a cult following while implementing agendas. As politics in America gets more polarised that centrist landscape is fast dwindling.

Council of National Policy

The Council for National Policy (CNP) is introduced as a powerful and secretive organization that has significantly influenced American politics over the last few decades. Founded in 1981, the CNP is portrayed as a nexus where conservative political strategies and religious ideologies converge. Its primary goal has been to reshape American politics according to stringent conservative principles, deeply rooted in Southern Baptist morals and traditional values. The CNP was established during a critical period in American politics—the early years of Ronald Reagan’s presidency. This era was marked by a shift towards conservative policies and a growing alliance between the Republican Party and the evangelical Christian movement. The founders of the CNP included prominent figures from various sectors, such as wealthy oil barons, influential evangelicals, and key Republican operatives. These founders envisioned a coordinated effort to promote conservative values and policies across the United States.

The organization’s initial goals were to counteract what they perceived as liberal influences in government and society. This included pushing for policies that upheld traditional family structures, opposing abortion, and resisting LGBTQ rights. The CNP aimed to create a unified front where political, economic, and media resources could be leveraged to achieve these objectives. One of the defining characteristics of the CNP is its secretive nature. Unlike many political organizations that operate in the public eye, the CNP has maintained a low profile, with its meetings and member lists kept confidential. This secrecy has contributed to its mystique and has allowed it to operate without the scrutiny that often accompanies political advocacy groups.

The CNP was founded by Tim LaHaye was a known figure in Christian Right movement and integrating evangelical agenda into conservative agenda. Paul Weyrich was responsible for setting up CNP’s organizational framework and founded many rightwing organizations including “Heritage Foundation”. The CNP movement has been funded by DeVos family specifically Richard DeVos, co-founder of Amway and his wife Betsy Devos who became Secretary of Education in Trump Administration has been a major financial supporter of CNP. The Koch family is another influential family known for industrial and political activism. Charles and David Koch have funded various conservative causes with a broader strategy to promote free-market principles, reduce government intervention, and advance conservative social policies.

The CNP’s influence on the Republican Party was profound. By the mid-1980s, the group had succeeded in embedding its conservative social agenda within the party’s platform. The Republican Party, which had traditionally focused on issues like economic policy and national security, began to prioritize social issues, including anti-abortion and anti-LGBTQ rights, reflecting the CNP’s influence. The CNP’s impact was not limited to policy changes; it also extended to personnel. Many prominent Republican figures and operatives were closely associated with the CNP, ensuring that the organization’s influence was felt throughout the party’s leadership.

The CNP played a crucial role in election of Republican President’s like Ronald Reagan, George HW Bush and Donald Trump by mobilizing conservative voters and providing financial support. Reagan’s presidency marked a significant shift towards conservative policies, many of which were in line with the CNP’s objectives. The endorsement and support of the CNP helped solidify Republican base among evangelical Christians and other conservative groups. The CNP’s role in Donald Trump’s rise to power is particularly notable. Initially viewed as an outsider, Trump gained the support of the CNP by adopting their socially conservative talking points and promising to advance their agenda. Many CNP affiliates were appointed to key positions in the Trump administration, including Steve Bannon and Kellyanne Conway. This ensured that the CNP’s influence was felt throughout Trump’s presidency. The presence of CNP affiliates in the administration ensured that the CNP’s priorities were reflected in key policy decisions. This included a strong focus on appointing conservative judges, rolling back regulations on religious organizations, and advancing pro-life legislation. The CNP’s influence was particularly evident in Trump’s judicial appointments. The selection of conservative judges for the federal courts, including the Supreme Court, was a major victory for the CNP, aligning with their long-term goal of shaping the judiciary to reflect conservative values.

The CNP’s mode of spreading conservative values was done through emergence of religious radio in 1980s among the evangelical base with shows like “Focus on Family” and “The 700 Club” disseminating religious Christian content to conservative base across United States of America. The most prominent voices in media representing conservative right in media in USA are Sena Hannity and Mike Pence. While Hannity rose through religious and conservative media, Mike Pence before becoming vice president in Trump Administration also had carrier in conservative radio talk show. The CNP maintains relationships with numerous conservative think tanks, advocacy groups, and media outlets. This coalition includes influential organizations like the Heritage Foundation, the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), and media networks such as Fox News. These affiliations create a broad and cohesive network that works in concert to promote and implement conservative policies. The collaboration ensures a unified front in the conservative movement, amplifying the impact of their initiatives.

Conservative think tanks like the Heritage Foundation and the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) provide the research and policy proposals that underpin the CNP’s agenda. These organizations develop comprehensive policy recommendations on a range of issues, including economic policy, healthcare, and education. The intellectual output from these think tanks supports the CNP’s efforts to influence legislation and public policy. By providing well-researched and coherent policy frameworks, these think tanks ensure that conservative principles are represented in policy debates and decisions. CNP also leveraged conservative media presence with Tucker Carlson and Neil Patel who co-founded Daily Caller in 2010 which was described as answer to Huffington Post. The conservative agenda over last few years after Pence’s fallout between Pence and Trump has been carried forward Steve Bannon and Tucker Carlson leading the media onslaught on left liberal ideology.

Project 2025

Project 2025 is a series of detailed policy proposals put together by hundreds of high-profile conservatives that the project’s participants hope Trump adopts if elected. Those proposals are laid out in a roughly 900-page book put out by the Heritage Foundation whose chief in a media interaction has called for a second American revolution. Participants in the project are also assembling lists of thousands of conservatives that could be slotted into politically appointed positions throughout the government in the opening days of a Trump administration. Behind the scenes, the project’s affiliates are drafting executive orders and agency regulations that could be used to quickly implement the policies that the project is advocating once Trump takes office.

Project 2025 proposes enforcing laws that make it illegal to mail abortion pills over state lines, criminalizing pornography and eliminating the Department of Education. The project also advocates a sweeping elimination of environmental regulations and a crackdown on programs to boost diversity in the workplace, which the project argues are broadly illegal. The program calls for de-funding LBGTQ and transgender therapies and campaigns instituted by the radical left. The project also calls for a broad expansion in presidential power by boosting the number of political appointees and increasing the president’s authority over the Justice Department.

“Our goal is to assemble an army of aligned, vetted, trained, and prepared conservatives to go to work on Day One to deconstruct the Administrative State.”

“This book, this agenda, the entire Project 2025 is a plan to unite the conservative movement and the American people against elite rule and woke culture warriors.”

“The great challenge confronting a conservative President is the … boldness to bend or break the bureaucracy to the presidential will …”

‘Mandate for Leadership’, Project 2025

The proposals of project 2025 are implementation of a broad conservative agenda from which Project 2025 has evolved. ABC Australia has done documentation and even came out with a video series on the same. The Project 2025 though is short summarised like the one below:

– The president should be able to advance his/her agenda through the bureaucracy without hindrance from unelected federal officials.

– The federal government should recognise only two unchanging sexes, male and female, as a matter of policy.

– The US has the right to select immigrants based on country of origin.

– Purge the Civil Services of the people left liberal ideology.

– Counter DOD’s Marxist agenda of critical race theory, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) offices and staff.

– Focus on Foreign Policy Iran, Venezuela, Russia, North Korea & China. Reverse Biden policy on Iran.

– Cut funding to international organisations who fund abortion or social policies viewed as counter to conservative values like WHO.

– Withdraw of those treaties that hurt United States National Interests.

– Give more power to Intelligence agencies to do domestic surveillance by Executive Orders under Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act, 2004.

– Make ‘International Religious Freedom’ central to USAID’s development program’s.

– Remove Biden’s ‘Climate Start’ regulations for Environmental Protection.

– Dismantle government’s clime change and environmental initiatives and stop government support for green energy initiatives.

– Remove all funding from planned parenthood, marriage and family should be defined by Bible, Abortion is not health care.

– Replace Civil Servants with people with allegiance to conservative agenda
Complete review of Department of Justice and FBI.

– Reverse USG financing policies that promote climate change, equity, diversity and accessibility.

– Withdraw from IMF & World Bank.

– Recognize threat of China and CCP specially trade deficits and its growing military prowess.

The above is very brief summary of some of the project 2025 proposals many of are conservative talking points. The project, a collaboration of dozens of conservative organizations, is overseen by the Heritage Foundation, a right-wing think tank. The group is independent of the Trump campaign, a fact Project 2025 and Trump himself have emphasized. “I know nothing about Project 2025,” Trump said on social media in early July. In practice, many of Trump’s closest policy advisers and those likely to take high-ranking positions in his administration are heavily involved in the project. For instance, former Trump administration official Russ Vought has played a major role in Project 2025. He also serves as the policy director of the Republican National Convention’s platform committee, an appointment the campaign signed off on.

On the other hand the radical leftists lead by Biden campaign has made a concerted effort to raise awareness of Project 2025 among voters and turn the project into a symbol of the hard-right political shift that it says would occur in the U.S. should Trump be elected. Biden said that “Project 2025 will destroy America,” and his campaign has created a web page dedicated to the project. The Democratic National Committee in July announced plans for billboards mentioning Project 2025 in 10 cities. Recently a Supreme Court ruling in early July that presidents have broad immunity from prosecution for actions taken while in office has heightened concerns among some Trump opponents that the project’s attempts to increase presidential power will be particularly dangerous. The agency at the top of Trump’s deep state hit list is the powerful Department of Justice (DOJ). “We will completely overhaul the corrupt Department of Injustice to clear out all the communists who have weaponised government activities,” Trump said in a speech in February.

Trump-Vance & Peter Thiel

Before we go on to see the impact of Conservative Right on the world. Lets first do a brief background check on Trump and his VP pick JD Vance. Trump’s running mate J.D. Vance is a bussiness partner of Peter Thiel, a member of the Steering Committee of the Bilderberg Group. Thiel is founder of PayPal and Palantir, a firm that supplies high technology to the Pentagon and the CIA. Peter Thiel has been supporting JD Vance for a few years. In 2020 Vance started a venture capital fund, Narya Capital. Amongst the founders of that venture capital fund are Peter Thiel and Erich Schmidt, former CEO of Google and also member of the Bilderberg Group. Peter Thiel has already donated a record-breaking amount of money to support J.D. Vance in the Ohio Republican Senate primary.

Palantir was founded in 2004 with funds Thiel raised by selling PayPal after years of bargaining with billionaire Meg Whitman, the owner of eBay, for $1.5 billion. The first $50 million investment to create Palantir came directly out of Thiel’s pocket. He and Karp went looking for more funding for the dream project, something they had yearned for even prior to 9/11, namely, selling software to the intelligence community. Their goal was not only to get their hands on more money: Thiel and Karp were ideologues—one right-wing, the other “progressive”—but both wedded to the view that corporate power must reign over “politics” to construct a utopian world system they had been academically groomed to believe in.

In the hyper-security-state environment created by the signing of the Patriot Act after the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks, Palantir was quickly made an integral part of the surveillance apparatus. The Palantir circle is to be viewed as a most significant, present-day case of such disastrous “misplaced power.” Since no later than his association with Stanford, Thiel has been groomed to adapt to explicitly fascist ideology. This was well known when he and Karp were selected by the CIA’s In-Q-Tel to provide data services to the intelligence community, and then advanced to more influence. In 2018, Palantir won the case in Federal Court, swinging the door open for Thiel and Karp to beat traditional military suppliers like Raytheon for over $1 billion in contracts, to provide more rapid intelligence analysis for military deployments.

In 2016, Thiel touched off an unusual breakout of media attention when one of his associates announced that Thiel would be donating $1.25 million to back Donald Trump, upsetting the Silicon Valley billionaire trend of only backing liberal candidates, and fueling the media rage against Trump. With the proxy war with Russia underway, the eccentric Karp drums up war contracts from his base of operations in Europe, while Thiel deploys the profits delivered to him as President of a hedge-fund linked conglomerate to finance select Republican Party campaigns for the 2022 election.

It is widely reported that Thiel overlaps his efforts with Steve Bannon, who still aims to control Donald Trump, who had earlier fired Bannon as his Chief Strategist. Trump and Thiel, according to media reports, have met many times, while Thiel has poured an unprecedented $30 million into two statewide Republican Senate races, in which the candidates are former long-term employees or partners in his investments. J. D. Vance, former principal at Thiel’s venture capital firm Mithril, recently scored victory with a $15 million campaign war chest from Thiel combined with endless free publicity provided by a much harassed Tucker Carlson, taking the Republican nomination for US Senate in Ohio.

While “Thielbucks” pour into election activity from the Palantir system’s speculative slush funds fueled by contracts with the U.S. military and NATO, Thiel’s clique of candidates put on a show, pretending they “have no interest in Ukraine,” and have no position on the $40 billion-plus the Biden Administration and both parties in Congress have spent on delivering weapons for the proxy war. It will be noteworthy to add peter thiel even though a Republican backer actively backs transhumanism research by the silicon valley and is also a member of the Bilderberg steering committee. The Bilderberg Group is one of the strongholds for the globalist elites. We must note here that the ultimate agenda of this elite is to usher in a technocratic totalitarian state and a godless society which would be easy to control.

In effect while Trump-Vance administration could religiously implement the conservative agenda laid out by the CNP and the Project 2025, its oligarchs and venture capitalists like Peter Thiel and others would continue to benefit due to proximity to the Republican party leadership. This is the link to the Deep State which also implies that Trump-Vance have no qualms with the deep state shenanigans only that it wants to purge the communist in it and replace it with the conservatives.

Impact of Conservative Right on the World

The impact of the rise of conservative right could be profound on the global order. As i had discussed in my earlier posts that schism in America revolve around two groups of ideologues one who champion Globalism i.e. by left liberals and other being America First by the right wing conservatives. This is not a new phenomenon but a conflict which has been going on since the American civil war. The fight between the free trade radicals and the American nationalist is the heart and soul of the conflict. The free trade radicals argue for American global hegemony even if it means American public suffers and America has to run trade deficits to maintain petro dollar hegemony. Having huge military and global deployment of the same is part of that globalist canvas including the free trade agreements.

The nationalist conservative right on the other hand argues for America First, making it a manufacturing hub, rescinding free trade agreements, pulling out from global trade and regulatory bodies as we see in Project 2025 aims thus in effect ripping apart the very American built global order after World War II i.e. Pax Americana that originated from War and Peace Treaty. While this conflict continues the effect of America first in form right wing conservative movement coming forward would be reverberating for the world. The withdrawal of military aid to Ukraine by Trump-Vance administration could give Russia a victory lap which has already tied up in never ending partnership with China. There is no guarantee that post Ukraine victory if it so happens under Trump-Vance, Russia would stop its alliance with China or stop active measures against United States and its allies across the world. Rather the threat to pull out of NATO could further jeopardize European security since Europe is now heavily dependent on American LNG post sanctions on Russia and destruction of Nordstream gas pipelines.

The rise of conservative right in USA could advance similar right wing nationalism in France & Germany on Continental Europe which is on the brink on wresting power. As we go ahead these ideological blocks will come in conflict and tear apart societies in the western world. Rise of right wing supremacists will lead to de-globalisation, protectionism, trade wars and ultimately military wars. I have explained the same in the Introduction of my book “The Great Reset” (2022). The opposing pole of the left liberal Marxists will be sponsored by China for internal subversion of democracies across the world. This ideological fight will lead to schisms and deepening global faultlines leading to cold war 2.0 as we had discussed in our book “The New Global Order” (2016) by Asian Warrior and in “The Great Reset” (2022) by myself (Navroop Singh). The ideological fight in the western world will be part of the unraveling of the global order bringing the democracies in to a confrontation with Axis Powers of Islamist Communist dictatorships. Ex British Army chief has already warned of World War 3 in few years time against the Axis powers.

One thing is however certain that Trump-Vance Administration would go soft on Russia and hard on China. While Trump administration previously started trade war by imposing trade tariffs on China, the Biden administration has built on it by initiating tech war imposing sanctions on China’s access to critical semi-conductor technologies. A bi-partisan consensus exists on this with US Congress passing the CHIPS Act and pouring in billions encouraging the tech companies to move semi-conductor fab units back to America from Taiwan. TSMC, Foxconn, Intel have already started setting fab manufacturing units in America.

Thus Trump-Vance administration might give India a closer working relationship with US on China sans the rights agenda of the left liberals and its woke ideology. It may also provide room for India-Russian ties however make no qualms that the American military industrial complex would like to have bigger pound of flesh in Indian military contracts and as we have read above regardless of which administration is in power in Washington DC the deep state and the military industrial complex will still call the shots. Indians specially right wing should be well advised to not to romanticize with Trump-Vance likely administration as it would carry the evangelical agenda which does not tolerate the indic faiths as we saw with the sikh prayer at the republican national convention.

Indians here must remember that it was Congressman Joe Pitts, the Pennsylvania Republican who led the Congressional charge to deny PM Modi entry to the US with 21 other lawmakers in the year 2005 and lauded the State Department for the decision, saying, “When I joined 21 of my colleagues earlier this month in requesting that President Bush bar Mr Modi from the country, I hoped that our government would send a clear message that we care about justice and rule of law. Today the administration did just that.”. Former R&AW chief B Raman in an article on Rediff on 21st March 2005 had stated that,

“The Christian fundamentalist organisations in the US played an important role in ensuring the re-election of President Bush and he owes them a political debt. They have made it appear that their action in demanding that Modi be barred from entry into the US was motivated by their outrage at the plight of Muslims in Gujarat. The real reason is their anger at his alleged action to prevent foreign Christian missionaries from indulging in proselytisation.”

In March 2005, the United States denied a visa to Gujarat’s chief minister and now Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. The visa was denied because of Mr. Modi’s alleged role in the 2002 riots in Gujarat. But it came about from a highly unusual coalition made up of Indian-born activists, evangelical Christians, Jewish leaders and Republican members of Congress concerned about religious freedom around the globe. In the fall of 2002, an Indian-born, Washington-based evangelical Christian named John Prabhudoss led a delegation to riot-affected Ahmedabad that included two Republican congressmen, Joe Pitts of Pennsylvania and Mr. Wolf. Another person on the trip was Raju Rajagopal, an Indian-born retired health professional based in Berkeley, Calif.

Thus as we see above from CNP, the Project 2025 and the deep state links to Trump-Vance candidacy could prove further chaotic for the world as America withdraws itself into its majestic isolation further accelerating the unwinding of the global order. It could add more chaos and disruption to global economy, supply chains and an aggressive China which try to fill in the vaccume. This could prove quiet handful for India as it faces a specter of a two front war with Pakistan and China and the internal subversion plots from these countries as well as the deep state. As India faces a hegemonic China, the strategic partnership with America will make even more sense given the convergence between two countries matter of trade, freedom of navigation, climate change, democracy, freedoms & civil liberties, people to people contacts, corporate sector tie ups and a burgeoning middle class which sees greener pastures in the west specially with increasing connect of the diaspora.

However the strategic choices will come at a cost, of a more assertive and interfering America in India’s defence and security apparatus, sub-national diplomacy, street activism and religious agendas sponsored the Christian evangelist base of the Republican party and its leadership. Indian government will have to navigate these choppy waters while giving more stress on growing economy, rapid indigenization of defence, acquiring and importing critical weapons systems and boosting men and military both for an even conflict or a great war which is on the horizon. Time is of the essence already ten years have gone by of the Modi government and we haven’t reached the critical mass yet in our defence preparedness. Strong and bold decisions are and will be needed to protect India’s national security interests in a chaotic world. While the policy of multi-polarity in bi-polarity looks good on paper and debate the real politick of a fractured world re-aligning itself in two blocks must not be lost on us. It is time for India to rise up and claim its position as the leader of the Global South and shaping the new global order in a more harmonic way.
