On July 2, 2025, Tesla announced its vehicle production and delivery numbers for the second quarter of 2025. The company produced a total of 410,244 vehicles, which is higher than the estimated 400,083 units. However, Tesla delivered 384,122 vehicles, which is slightly below the estimated 389,407 units and represents a 13.5% decline compared to the same quarter last year.

For Model 3 and Model Y, Tesla produced 396,835 units (estimate: 383,567) and delivered 373,728 units (estimate: 377,295). For other models (like Model S and Model X), production was 13,409 units (estimate: 13,616), and deliveries were 10,394 units (estimate: 14,644).

Tesla also deployed 9.6 GWh of energy storage products during the quarter. The company stated that 2% of Model 3/Y and 7% of other models were delivered under operating lease accounting.

Despite the decline in deliveries year-on-year, Tesla’s stock (TSLA) went up 4% in trading due to production and delivery figures beating some market expectations. Analysts believe that increased competition and negative headlines about Elon Musk affected Tesla’s performance.

Tesla will release its full Q2 2025 financial results on July 23, 2025, after market close. A live Q&A session with company management will follow at 5:30 PM ET on the same day.
