Tesla will raise the price of its Model Y by $1,000 in the US.
Tesla has revealed plans to raise the cost of its Model Y in the US by $1,000 starting April 1st. This announcement follows a temporary $1,000 discount on the Model Y RWD and Model Y Long Range in early February, which ended on March 1st. The reason for announcing the price hike after such a short period of discounting remains unclear.
With the price hike, the Model Y will now begin at $43,990 and $48,990, respectively, before factoring in the $7,500 tax credit. Despite this, new Model Y vehicles can still be discovered for as little as $39,150 in “new inventory.” Furthermore, Tesla presently includes a three-month complimentary Full Self-Driving package with purchases made using a referral code.
To sum up, Tesla has disclosed plans to raise the price of its Model Y by $1,000 in the US, starting April 1. This decision comes after a temporary $1,000 discount on the Model Y RWD and Model Y Long Range, which concluded on March 1. While the higher price might pose challenges for some potential buyers, Tesla persists in providing various incentives to entice customers.
