The Swiss stock exchange, SIX, announced that trading would resume around 11:30 CET (09:30 GMT) on Wednesday after a halt at approximately 10:00 CET due to data dissemination issues. This interruption affected all types of products, including equities, bonds, and exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
SIX confirmed that trading in equities and ETFs would restart at 11:30 CET, with bond trading to follow later at around 12:00 CET.
The Spanish stock exchange, also managed by SIX, faced similar data problems but continued trading normally. A spokesperson stated that the market was functioning correctly despite the data issues.
The Swiss stock exchange experienced a comparable outage of about three hours in June 2023. During the recent disruption, multiple trades, including those in bonds, ETFs, and structured products, were labeled as “mistrades” and subsequently canceled.
Additionally, updates for Spain’s IBEX index were being posted on the LSEG workspace at 08:50 GMT.
