The Russian Central Bank recently said that its employees can’t use or buy Apple phones and tablets for work after December 25. This is because of worries about security. Some people think Apple worked with the US National Security Agency (NSA) to collect data. The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) said the NSA did an operation to spy on thousands of Apple devices.
It’s not just the Central Bank; the Ministry of Digital Development in Russia also banned iPhones and iPads for its workers two months ago. They did this to keep important information safe and protect the government’s digital systems.
Apple denies working with the NSA and didn’t comment on the FSB’s claims. But, in the past, the US government has collected data from big tech companies like Apple says agencies.
To sum up, the Russian Central Bank’s choice to stop its workers from using Apple phones and tablets is because of worries about security. This comes after the FSB said the NSA spied on Apple devices. It’s part of a bigger trend where governments are doing things to keep their digital systems and important information safe.
