The National Highways Authority of India has announced that the FASTag Annual Pass fee will be revised for the financial year 2026 27. The fee will increase from the current Rs 3000 to Rs 3075 and the revised price will come into effect from April 1, 2026. The announcement was made by the Press Information Bureau in Delhi on March 15.

According to the authority, the revision has been carried out in accordance with the provisions of the National Highways Fee Determination of Rates and Collection Rules, 2008. The adjustment reflects the periodic revision of charges applicable for highway toll usage under the regulatory framework governing national highways and expressways in India.

The FASTag Annual Pass is designed for eligible non commercial vehicles that have a valid FASTag linked to the vehicle. The pass allows users to pay a one time annual fee instead of making repeated toll payments. After paying the annual amount, the vehicle owner can use the pass for one year or up to 200 toll plaza crossings.

The facility is available at around 1150 fee plazas located on national highways and national expressways across the country. The system aims to simplify travel for private vehicle owners who frequently use highways and want to avoid repeated FASTag recharges during their journeys.

Once the payment for the annual pass is completed, the activation process is relatively quick. The pass becomes active on the existing FASTag linked to the vehicle within about two hours after the one time fee payment is made. Users can complete the payment through the Rajmarg Yatra App or through the official website of the National Highways Authority of India.

The FASTag Annual Pass program has seen growing adoption since its launch. The authority said more than 56 lakh users have already opted for the annual pass facility. The response from highway users indicates increasing acceptance of the system as a convenient and cost effective option for frequent travel on national highways.

The program was officially launched on August 15, 2025. Since then, the annual pass has been promoted as a simplified toll payment solution that reduces the need for multiple FASTag recharges while offering predictable travel costs for private vehicle owners.

The FASTag system itself forms a key part of India’s electronic toll collection network. By linking toll payments directly to a digital tag attached to the vehicle, the system allows vehicles to pass through toll plazas without stopping for cash payments. This helps reduce congestion at toll gates and improves the flow of traffic on busy highway corridors.

The annual pass builds on this system by providing an option for users who frequently cross toll plazas. Instead of paying separate toll charges every time a toll plaza is crossed, users can rely on the annual pass until the validity period of one year or the limit of 200 crossings is reached.

With more than fifty six lakh users already enrolled, the growing adoption of the FASTag Annual Pass highlights how digital toll payment systems are becoming widely accepted among highway users. The National Highways Authority of India said the strong response to the initiative reflects the convenience and cost effectiveness the pass provides to private vehicle owners across the country.

The revised annual fee of Rs 3075 will apply to all eligible vehicles that choose to use the FASTag Annual Pass for the financial year 2026 27. The change will be implemented from April 1, 2026 across the national highway network where the annual pass facility is available.
