Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced major plans to invest hundreds of billions of dollars in building powerful computing systems to support superintelligence. He said the company has enough capital from its strong business to make these massive investments.
Zuckerberg shared that Meta is focused on building the most talented and skilled team in the AI industry for its superintelligence project. The goal is to create the most advanced and capable AI systems in the world.
To support this, Meta is developing large-scale compute clusters. One of the main projects is called Hyperion, which will be able to scale up to 5 gigawatts (GW) over the next few years.
He also revealed that Meta is creating a series of powerful computing clusters. The first one is named Prometheus, and it will start working in 2026. In addition, the company is working on more high-capacity clusters, called Titan clusters.
Meta’s new AI labs will offer top levels of computing power, giving each researcher access to the most resources in the industry. This move shows Meta’s strong commitment to becoming a global leader in superintelligence development.
