An active shooter situation was reported at the KDC/One manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio, on February 4, 2025. The incident took place at the facility located at 8825 Smiths Mill Road North.

Law Enforcement Response

Police from New Albany, Columbus, and Franklin County rushed to the scene, with at least two dozen law enforcement vehicles and ambulances responding. Authorities blocked off the area around Smiths Mill Road North and advised residents to stay away.

Casualties & Investigation

Early reports suggest that at least five people may have been shot, but law enforcement has not confirmed the number of injuries or fatalities. The status of the shooter remains unclear, and police are actively investigating the situation.

Current Status

The facility is one of 24 manufacturers in the New Albany Beauty Park and has produced over 1.5 billion units in 3,000+ SKUs since opening in 2012. The incident occurred less than 24 hours after a fatal shooting in Hamilton early Tuesday. Police reported shots fired on Clovernook Drive at 5:45 a.m. local time, following an altercation that led to one person’s death.
