Israeli Incursion: Crisis Unfolds in Rafah as Tanks Enter, Threatening Refugee Massacre

Israeli tanks have entered Rafah, a settlement housing 1.5 million refugees from Gaza, many of whom live in tents. Among the residents are hundreds of thousands of children. The fear is that this could lead to a genocide worse than previous incidents in the region.

The attack on Rafah by Israeli forces has commenced, marked by intense and sustained bombardment particularly targeting the eastern region. This onslaught includes brutal bombing by both aviation and artillery. The concern is heightened due to the large presence of refugee children, making the potential for casualties unprecedented.

Despite previous assertions by Egypt that Rafah is a red line for them, Israeli forces have occupied the Rafah border crossing. This move comes despite Egypt’s earlier warning that any aggression towards Rafah would be considered a declaration of war. Notably, Egyptian President Sisi has remained conspicuously silent amid these developments.
