Israel conducted airstrikes against the Houthis in Yemen, resulting in a burning fuel depot at Al-Hudaydah port. This marks Israel’s first attack on Yemen since October 7th.
Israeli airstrikes targeted the Houthi-controlled Red Sea port of Hodeidah in Yemen. The strikes hit oil facilities, causing fatalities, as reported by Al-Masirah TV, the Houthi movement’s main news outlet.
On Friday, a long-range Iranian-made drone struck central Tel Aviv. This attack, claimed by the Houthi militia, resulted in one death and four injuries, according to the Israeli military and emergency services.
The Israeli military declined to comment on the details reported by foreign media concerning the recent attacks.
The Iranian-backed Houthis have intensified their attacks on Israel and Western targets, claiming they are acting in solidarity with the Palestinians. They have also targeted Western ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden following Israel’s invasion of the Gaza Strip, which was a response to last year’s Hamas attack on southern Israel.
Minutes before the Israeli airstrikes on Yemen, Israeli F-35s were seen over Eilat while refueling. These F-35s subsequently carried out the attack on Yemen’s Houthis.
