Official ISP July 2026 Data Shows Strong Services Growth

The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) has released the ISP July 2026 trial data, showing positive growth across 17 of 19 services sub-sectors compared with July 2025. Ten sub-sectors recorded double-digit growth during the month.

The Index of Services Production (ISP) is being released by the National Statistics Office (NSO) on a trial basis, with 2024-25 as the base year.

Administrative Services Lead July Growth

Administrative and support services recorded the strongest year-on-year growth among the 19 sub-sectors, rising 20.9% in July 2026. Retail trade followed with 18.5%, while real estate grew 14.4%.

Accommodation and food services increased 12.6%, while banking recorded 12.3% growth. Wholesale trade rose 12.1%, telecommunications increased 11.0%, and IT and computer-related services grew 10.7%.

Professional, scientific and technical services, including R&D, recorded 10.4% growth. Information and broadcasting rose 10.0%.

Two Services Sub-Sectors Recorded Decline

Most of the remaining sub-sectors also reported positive growth. Road transport increased 9.9%, warehousing and support activities for transportation rose 9.8%, insurance grew 8.9%, and postal and courier services increased 8.7%.

Water transport grew 7.7%, while railway transport increased 7.5%. Arts, entertainment and recreation services recorded a smaller 1.7% increase.

Two sub-sectors reported negative growth in July. Repair services declined 5.0%, while air transport fell 8.4%.

The July 2026 ISP stood at 140.0 for retail trade, 144.0 for accommodation and food, 134.5 for administrative and support services, 121.9 for banking, and 121.2 for real estate.

MoSPI Says Trial Series Will Undergo Review

MoSPI said the monthly ISP figures are being published on an experimental basis to examine data quality, test the resilience of the series and obtain feedback from stakeholders and users.

The indices for railway transport, banking and insurance are based on provisional monthly data and will undergo revision on an annual basis. The ministry has also provided monthly sub-sectoral indices from July 2025 through July 2026 as part of the release.
