Indian passenger bus UP FT 7623, carrying 40 people, plunged into the Marsyangdi River in Nepal’s Tanahun district on Friday, August 23, 2024. The bus was traveling from Pokhara to Kathmandu when it fell off the road and landed on the riverbank.
The accident has resulted in at least 11 confirmed fatalities. According to Myrepublica.com, rescue operations are currently underway. A team of 45 Armed Police Force members, led by Senior Superintendent of Police Madhav Paudel, has reached the site and is actively working to recover survivors and additional victims.
So far, rescue teams have managed to recover approximately 10 to 11 bodies from the scene. Efforts to search for any remaining passengers and provide aid continue as the situation unfolds.
