The Indian military has begun a high-level press briefing after conducting strikes on Pakistani targets in response to recent terror attacks within India. Officials are presenting video evidence showing coordinated attacks on key Indian sites, including the Parliament and several other sensitive locations across the country.
During the briefing, military officials also showcased chilling footage from the recent Pahalgam tourist attack, which left multiple civilians injured and drew nationwide condemnation.
India’s Foreign Secretary officially named Lashkar-e-Taiba, a Pakistan-based militant group, as the primary perpetrator behind the Pahalgam incident. The government has stated that such acts will not go unanswered and reiterated India’s resolve to combat terrorism with firm action.
India’s Foreign Secretary said the Pahalgam attack was intended to disrupt peace and normal life in Kashmir. He added that the attackers also aimed to create communal tension across India. The group that claimed responsibility, The Resistance Front (TRF), is linked to the Islamist militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba.
Indian Foreign Secretary said intelligence and surveillance showed that Pakistan-based terror groups were planning more attacks on India, so it was necessary to carry out pre-emptive and precautionary strikes.
Indian military spokespersons stated that Operation Sindoor lasted for half an hour. The locations were carefully chosen to avoid civilian infrastructure and prevent harm to civilians. The “terrorist camps” were completely destroyed in the attacks, with recruitment centres, launchpads, and indoctrination centres being specifically targeted. The targets were selected based on intelligence inputs.

Indian military spokespeople have shared a list of targets, explaining that they were chosen because the camps contained facilities for handling weapons and training “terrorists.” They also mentioned that specialized technology was used during the operation to minimize collateral damage.

Further details from the Indian side are expected shortly as the briefing continues.
