U.S. May Pull Back 10,000 Troops from Eastern Europe: Report

Top officials in the U.S. Defense Department are reportedly thinking about reducing the number of American troops in Eastern Europe by up to 10,000, according to NBC News. The report is based on information from six people familiar with the discussions in both the U.S. and Europe.

Recently President Donald Trump has revealed that his team has approved a massive defense budget close to $1 trillion. He said, “Yes, it’s costly, but investing in our military is necessary. We must stay strong because there are many threats around the world.

“This new budget is a sharp jump—about 17% higher than the previous $850 billion allocation. Interestingly, just a few weeks ago, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth mentioned that a 10% cut in defense spending was being considered to reduce overall government expenses. But with this new budget announcement, those plans appear to be off the table.
