Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has officially denied any talks or deals involving joint ventures or technology sharing with other companies, including Intel. The clarification came from CEO C.C. Wei during a recent conference call with analysts.
Wei stated that TSMC is not in any discussions related to joint projects, licensing, or technology transfers, directly addressing recent market rumors. These speculations had gained traction following reports that TSMC and Intel were planning to collaborate on chip manufacturing.
Media outlets like The Information had claimed that both companies had reached a preliminary understanding to jointly manage Intel’s chipmaking facilities. Additionally, Bloomberg suggested that the initiative was backed by the Trump administration to strengthen domestic semiconductor capabilities in the U.S.
Although Wei didn’t directly comment on those reports, he strongly reaffirmed that TSMC is committed to its independent strategy and will continue to focus on its own technological development and manufacturing goals.
