U.S. President Donald J. Trump has publicly denied French President Emmanuel Macron’s claim that he left the G7 Summit in Canada to return to Washington, D.C., for ceasefire talks between Israel and Iran.
In a statement posted on his official Truth Social account, Trump criticized Macron, calling him “publicity seeking” and said the French leader “mistakenly” claimed he was returning to D.C. for negotiations.
Trump wrote:
> “Publicity seeking President Emmanuel Macron, of France, mistakenly said that I left the G7 Summit, in Canada, to go back to D.C. to work on a ‘cease fire’ between Israel and Iran. Wrong! He has no idea why I am now on my way to Washington, but it certainly has nothing to do with a Cease Fire. Much bigger than that.”
Trump further added:
> “Whether purposely or not, Emmanuel always gets it wrong. Stay Tuned!”
The statement comes amid escalating tensions in the Middle East. However, Trump clarified that the reason for his early departure from the summit is related to a larger issue—not a ceasefire initiative as claimed by Macron.
Update: President Trump will hold an emergency meeting with the National Security Council today. The goal is to discuss America’s response to the ongoing conflict. Officials say the meeting is urgent and needs quick attention from top security leaders.
