In a strongly worded statement posted on social media, U.S. President Donald J. Trump criticized China for failing to fulfill its commitment to purchase aircraft from Boeing. Trump claimed that China had agreed to buy “beautifully finished planes” but had not followed through, calling it a reflection of broader issues in U.S.-China relations.
He further alleged that this is just one example of China’s long-standing “unfair” behavior towards the U.S. economy.
In addition to the Boeing deal, Trump raised concerns about the ongoing fentanyl crisis, accusing China of being the primary source of the deadly drug. According to him, fentanyl is entering the U.S. through Mexico and Canada, leading to the deaths of “hundreds of thousands” of Americans.
Trump called immediate action, stating that “it better stop, NOW!”
