Trump Admin Plans Executive Orders to Boost Power for AI Industry – Reuters

The Trump administration is preparing a series of executive orders to help increase electricity supply for the fast-growing artificial intelligence (AI) sector, Reuters reported, citing sources familiar with the matter.

The orders are expected to focus on speeding up power grid connections for energy projects that support AI data centers. They may also include allowing the use of federally managed land to build new data centers and energy infrastructure, the sources said.

“We’re going to make sure America leads in AI, and that means giving our companies the power they need—literally,” Trump was quoted as saying by individuals aware of the plan.

According to Reuters, the key features of the planned executive orders include:

Faster grid access for electricity projects that serve AI data centers

Use of federal land to help build data center projects and ease land shortages

Streamlined siting rules to reduce delays in construction and approvals

These moves are aimed at reducing delays, supporting U.S. AI growth, and improving national energy infrastructure.
