Tesla has stopped accepting new orders for its Model S and Model X cars in China, as seen on its official Chinese website and WeChat mini-program, according to a Reuters.
The suspension affects both of these imported models, and no further orders are being taken at the moment.
Tesla builds the Model S and Model X in its factories in California and the Netherlands, then ships them to China. However, customers in China can still buy the Model Y and Model 3, which are made locally at Tesla’s Shanghai plant.
The Model X is a premium mid-size SUV, while the Model S is Tesla’s top-end sedan known for high performance. The Model S has been on sale the longest among all Tesla cars.
