President Trump Slams Zelenskyy’s Crimea Remarks, Pushes for Urgent Peace Deal

U.S. President Donald J. Trump has criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy over his recent comments on Crimea. In a post, Trump called Zelenskyy’s remarks “inflammatory” and said they are hurting ongoing peace talks with Russia.

Zelenskyy had told The Wall Street Journal that Ukraine would never recognize Russia’s occupation of Crimea, saying there’s “nothing to talk about.” President Trump responded by saying such statements only make peace more difficult. He pointed out that Crimea was taken years ago, during President Obama’s term, without any military resistance.

Trump added that continuing this war will only lead to more loss of life, with thousands of Russian and Ukrainian soldiers dying every week. He emphasized that the war has become a “killing field” and warned that Ukraine risks losing everything if it keeps fighting for years.

President Trump stressed that a peace deal is close and urged Zelenskyy to finalize it. “He has no cards to play,” Trump wrote, calling on Zelenskyy to “GET IT DONE.” Trump said he is ready to help both Ukraine and Russia end what he described as a crisis that “would have never started if I were President.”
