President Trump Slams Fed: Urges Full-Point Rate Cut, Calls Delay a “Disaster”

President Donald Trump has sharply criticized the Federal Reserve’s inaction on interest rates, urging a full 100 basis point cut and warning that further delays are damaging the economy.

“Too late at the Fed is a disaster! Europe has had 10 rate cuts, we’ve had none,” Trump said, emphasizing that the U.S. is still performing strongly despite what he sees as poor monetary leadership.

He argued that a deep cut would significantly ease debt burdens, especially with much of the national debt held in short-term instruments: “If the Fed would cut, we’d greatly reduce interest costs on debt coming due. Biden went mostly short term. There’s virtually no inflation anymore — if it comes back, raise rates to counter. Very simple!”

Trump concluded by saying, “Go for a full point — rocket fuel!” and accused the current Fed leadership of costing the country billions in avoidable interest payments.

All eyes are now on the upcoming FOMC policy outcome scheduled for June 18.
