U.S. President Donald Trump has described Chinese President Xi Jinping as “very tough” and “extremely hard to make a deal with,” amid renewed tensions over trade agreements between the two countries.
In a recent post on Truth Social, President Trump said, “I like President Xi of China, always have, and always will, but he is VERY TOUGH, AND EXTREMELY HARD TO MAKE A DEAL WITH!!!”
This statement follows Trump’s accusation that China violated a recent agreement to roll back tariffs and ease trade restrictions. The deal, discussed in Geneva last month, aimed to improve trade relations, but has since faced setbacks.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed on Monday that President Trump is expected to speak with President Xi later this week to address ongoing issues and revive stalled negotiations.
Despite the diplomatic challenges, President Trump also highlighted economic progress, stating that “The United States had the best May in 30 years. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!”

As trade talks remain uncertain, the world is closely watching the U.S.-China relationship, which continues to play a critical role in global economic stability.
