Israeli-Linked Hacker Group Threatens to Leak Iranian Crypto Exchange Data

A hacker group called Gonjeshke Darande, also known as “Predatory Sparrow,” has claimed responsibility for a cyberattack on Nobitex, a leading Iranian cryptocurrency exchange.

In a post on social media platform X, the group warned that it would leak Nobitex’s source code and internal data within 24 hours. The hackers also said that any funds still left on the platform after that would be at serious risk.

According to Gonjeshke Darande, Nobitex helps the Iranian government bypass global sanctions and finance terrorism around the world. The group alleged that Nobitex openly teaches its users how to avoid sanctions and doesn’t try to follow international rules.

> “Nobitex is at the center of Iran’s efforts to violate sanctions. It’s the regime’s favorite tool, and it doesn’t even hide it,” the group claimed.

This is not the first time Gonjeshke Darande has targeted Iranian infrastructure. Just a day before this claim, the group said it had hacked Bank Sepah, one of Iran’s major banks. However, the bank’s services remained active, and the full impact of that attack is still unclear.

Over the past few years, this hacker group has taken responsibility for several cyberattacks in Iran, including on gas stations and a major steel factory.

While Gonjeshke Darande is linked to Israel, the Israeli government usually does not confirm or deny involvement in cyber operations. Israel follows a policy of ambiguity when it comes to cyber warfare, especially against Iran.

Massive Hack Wipes Out 95% of Nobitex Crypto Assets

A major cyberattack by the Israeli-linked hacker group “Predatory Sparrow” has caused 95% of the funds on Iran’s Nobitex crypto exchange to disappear.According to military reporter Doron Kadosh, Iran used Nobitex to avoid international sanctions by using cryptocurrency.Foreign sources report that wallet balances dropped from $1.8 billion to just $100 million after the attack.

What’s Next?

If the hacker group releases the internal data of Nobitex as promised, it could cause huge damage to the crypto exchange and put user funds at risk. It may also reveal sensitive financial networks used by the Iranian regime.

The global cyber community is closely watching this situation, as it highlights the growing role of cyberattacks in international conflicts, especially between Israel and Iran.
