India has suspended all visa services for Pakistani nationals with immediate effect, as per an official statement from the Ministry of External Affairs.
Here are the key details:
All existing Indian visas given to Pakistani citizens are now suspended.
This means anyone from Pakistan who already had a visa – for tourism, business, study, or any other reason – can no longer use it to enter India.
Medical visas have a special rule.
Indian medical visas already issued to Pakistanis will remain valid, but only until April 29, 2025. After that, they will also be suspended unless new rules are announced.
This suspension applies to all types of visas and will remain in place until further notice.
Indian Ministry of External Affairs has announced that all Pakistani nationals currently in India must leave before their visa expires. At the same time, Indian nationals in Pakistan have been advised to return home at the earliest, signaling a sharp deterioration in bilateral relations.
On the other side, Pakistan has suspended all trade with India, including any trade routed through third countries. The country also stated that it would place all bilateral agreements with India, including the historic Simla Agreement, in abeyance. Additionally, Pakistan has shut its airspace for all Indian-owned or operated airlines and declared Indian defence, naval, and air advisors in Islamabad as persona non grata, ordering them to exit the country by April 30.
