Govt Issues Urgent Directions to Telecom Companies Amidst India-Pak Tensions

In response to rising tensions between India and Pakistan, the Indian government has issued urgent instructions to telecom companies. According to a CNBC TV18 report, the government has stressed that it is critical to maintain seamless communication, especially for national security.

All major telecom operators have assured the government of their readiness. They have agreed to deploy emergency measures if required.

The government has also asked telcos to maintain a detailed list of critical infrastructure, with special focus on installations in border areas. There is a strong emphasis on ensuring uninterrupted operations of telecom towers and transceiver stations within 100 kilometers of the international border.

The directive highlights the importance of a stable and secure communication network during sensitive geopolitical situations.
