Farmers Asked to Clear Fields Near India-Pakistan Border Amid Security Alert

Pakistani forces have continued to violate the ceasefire along the Line of Control. In response, the Border Security Force (BSF) has issued a notice asking farmers near the zero line to clear their fields within 48 hours, according to a report by Hindustan Times.

Thousands of farmers cultivate land along the border areas. Around 45,000 acres of farmland are located along the 530-kilometer-long international boundary between India and Pakistan.

Local gurdwaras in several villages, including Rouda Wala Khurd in Amritsar, have been making public announcements about the BSF notice. Gurdwaras in Tarn Taran, Fazilka, and Ferozepur districts are also urging farmers to clear their fields quickly. They warned that access gates to the fields will be closed soon.

Officials say that crops standing near the border can provide cover for anyone trying to cross illegally. By clearing the fields, the BSF aims to improve security and strengthen vigilance along the sensitive areas.

The BSF cited security concerns as the main reason for this urgent action.
