China’s Foreign Ministry has strongly criticized the latest wave of US tariffs, calling them a “tsunami” that disrupts global trade rules under the World Trade Organization (WTO) and hurts people around the world.

Meanwhile, China’s Commerce Ministry stated that there are currently no ongoing economic or trade talks with the United States. It added that any reports claiming such negotiations are happening are completely baseless and not supported by facts.

The Ministry emphasized that any future discussions must be based on mutual respect and equality. China also urged the US to show genuine sincerity if it truly wishes to restart trade talks.
