Apple shipped iPhones and other products from India to the US using five planes in the last few days of March. A senior government official said the company arranged these flights within just three days to avoid a new 10% import tax announced by US President Donald Trump.
Despite the tariff, Apple has no plans to raise prices in India or other markets. To reduce the impact, the company quickly moved stock from its factories in India and China to the US, even though this time of year usually sees fewer shipments.
Apple’s stock dropped below $170 for the first time since May 2024 after the White House said that iPhones could be fully made in the USA.
